How to wash your Make-up brushes - Video tutorial

Cleaning brushes is very key not only for hygiene reasons but also to increase the longevity of your brushes. Brushes are most likely the most important component of a makeup artist. I personally don’t mind splurging on good brushes. Hence I’m even more determined to take good care of it, which will make them last a long time .It is recommended to deep clean your brushes every 3 weeks to the max, and spot clean every day. 

The reason why it is so essential to clean your brushes is because they can store bacteria and also transfer those bacteria to your make-up. Despite whether you are a make- up artist or a makeup lover you do have to clean your brushes. A fresh makeup brush ensures the bristles are disinfected and your products are applied with the greatest colour integrity. They are 100 ways to clean your brushes. I’m showing you the most fastest , easiest and cheapest way to disinfect and clean your brushes .

What you need :

1. Cup or any plastic container
2. Johnson's baby shampoo or any other mild sulphate free shampoo
3. Water

This is a small video that demonstrates how I clean my realtechniques brushes .

• STEP 1 :Mix 4 tablespoons of shampoo and mixed it with 1/3 cup of water .(for more than 15 brushes , )
• STEP 2: Dip your brush in this solution and start rubbing it against your palm in clockwise and anti clockwise directions.
• STEP 3 : Run the brush under water and then continue cleaning the brush . Repeat this process twice .
• STEP 4 : Lay them flat on a towel to lay while you are washing the other brushes. Do not keep them upright as that will let the water seep into the brush barrel and loosen the glue .
• STEP 5 : Pat dry the brushes and remove excess water . Then you can lay them to dry on a towel under a fan or someplace cool.

I used the real techniques travel cases and hung my brushes upside down. This will let the water come out faster and easier .My brushes dried in less than 2 hours.

How to use :

Wash - Use it as a facewash daily by gently applying to the face and neck ,avoiding the eye are . Rinse off thoroughly with water.

Scrub - Apply it everyday as a scrub to the moistened face by smoothly massaging in upward circles focusing on forehead ,nose and chin . Rinse off to reveal clearer skin.

Pack-  Use it as a pack 2-3 times a week by lightly applying it on your face avoiding the eye area.leave it to dry for 3- 5 minutes and rinse off with Luke warm water to support the perfect complexion.

My Take !

I'm always on the look for new skin care products and I stumbled upon the New Nivea Pure Effect - TOTAL FACE CLEANUP . I truly was attracted with their 5 in one factor . Although most of these products end up not serving all the purposes and are just a selling gimmick to indulge consumers like me.

 I used the Nivea Pure Effect - TOTAL FACE CLEANUP as the instructions given , and honestly I really liked it. I love the smell of the Nivea Pure Effect , its very refreshing . It reminds me of the clean and clear morning burst face wash. The Nivea Pure Effect - TOTAL FACE CLEANUP has a clay type texture , which helps remove all the dirt , impurities and excess oil that may clog up your pores causing acne or blackheads . 

The Nivea Pure Effect - TOTAL FACE CLEANUP consists of small micro beads that helps remove dirt and dead skin to give that natural glow .The micro Beads are not harsh at all , which is a plus for me . I have sensitive skin and the face wash did not aggrivate it  at all .The Clay type texture with the micro beads make it a perfect scrub cum face mask like The body shops oatmeal and honey scrub cum face mask . 

The Pure Effect - TOTAL FACE CLEANUP does not foam up which makes it easy to use it as a face mask .I would recommend to use it in the shower. The steam will open up the pores for a extra deep cleanse. I would certainly not recommend it for dry skin , as the clay might dry out the skin even more .I did notice that my skin looked clearer within a week .

L'Oreal Glam Shine Lip Gloss : Coral Strass, Sand Crytal, Rose Crystal

I bought these cute little lip glosses long ago at the airport. These are a pack of travel size lip glosses by L'Oreal. They are pretty decent sized perfect to put into your purse. The travel pack comes with 3 glosses compatible with a variety of skin tones from pale to olive and deeper skin tones. All of them have a bit of glitter in them. Though this glitter is not overwhelming its a subtle shine. The applicator is the classic heart shape applicators of the glam shine collection.

Coral Strass:
Coral Strass is an iridescent color. Its a clear gloss with a soft pink shimmer. Its more obvious when you swatch it but on the lips its not as apparent. This color is great to top over any lipstick to go from day to a more glam evening look.

Sand Crystal:
Definitely for the more deeper brown skin colors this is grey brown color that would work as the perfect nude for darker lips. This definitely is more pigmented that the other two colors. It can be added to any cool toned lipstick to warm it up a bit.

 Rose Crystal:
Exactly like the name this gloss is a dusty rose pink color that would flatter a lot of skin tones. Its one of those colors that can be worn day or night. It is great to top off a matte lipstick to bring it to life. The lip gloss by it self also looks great.

My First impression  !

This serum was recommended by my dermatologist as a primer before applying make up . I have allot of weddings coming up next month . Since my skin is very sensitive and make-up does seem to irritate it resulting in redness or acne .  The Strea NANO WHITE  is a serum that hydrates the skin at the same time it acts as a barrier between my skin care and make up . The serum prevents any bacteria to enter into the skin. 

The NANO WHITE also cures any skin pigmentation disorders . It can be applied after your normal skin care and also on its own . It looks like oil but after you apply it on your skin it feels like water and easily absorbs into the skin.It is very runny just like water, which makes it easy to work with. This is also where the dropper comes into use as you will not end up wasting the product or  creating a mess.

 It has a mild fragrance like flowers but the smell disappears in no time .My skin does look glowy not greasy or oily which I like . My take !

First dirsclaimer I'm not pregnant and neither do I have stretch marks on my tummy . I suffer for really bad dry skin on elbows and knees . Also I have stretch marks on the tops of my hands . I have herd amazing review on this particular product from the Palmer's skin care range . This product is made of all natural ingredients which makes it safe for pregnant women which is their target audience. This is another reason why I like this product more . I have really sensitive and I know how much we all are a sucker for those fragrance body butters , they do no good and in some cases my end up irritating your skin .The texture is very luxurious , its not creamy at all. It is like a body oil , a tad bit greasy but it does not feel sticky and absorbs pretty well into the skin . 

This product has no added fragrances or any ingredients that  may irritate sensitive skin - which in other words is ideal for me .The smell is not bad at all for an all natural product , although disclaimer it does not smell like cocoa or chocolate . It smells like jasmine or almond oil .I have been using this product since a year and I can see visible changes . I only use The Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula - Tummy Butter only in the winters , and would not recommend it for summers as it might get a bit greasy .

NYX MegaShine Lip gloss - Lollipop, Natural, French Kiss

I love lip glosses, especially for everyday going out to the mall kind of make-up. I stumbled upon NYX Megashine a few years ago and started looking it up. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion to buy 3 shades, Lollipop, Natural and French Kiss. The glosses are all sticky so if that's not your cup of tea its alright. They smell sweet without being over powering. Lets get into it then.

Lollipop:
This lip gloss I had high hopes on because it looked so pretty in the swatches and the container. Its a nice golden beige color that has a bit of a peach undertone.  Sadly it does not look good on my pigmented lips and olive complexion. It makes my skin look brassy and not at all cute in photographs. You can wear this with a clear gloss on top to cut down on the shimmer or only on the center of the lips for some umph. I think this would suit pale skin tones best !

Natural:
My absolute favorite of them all has to be natural. Its is a nude brownie pink color great for my pigmented lips as it helps to cut down the purple tones. It fades into a beautiful tint on the lips and lasts really long. It will suit a lot of skin tones and is great for an everyday look. Double thumbs up for this gloss. This one has no shimmer

French Kiss:
Again like lollipop this turned out to be a disappointment. there is way too much shimmer in it and it tends to not flatter my lips or skin tone. I think people with thinner lips and pale skin should go for this. I have pretty full lips hence it becomes too over powering. Indian skin tones should stay away from this one as the silver shimmer does not flatter the yellow tones in the skin.

I present to you a very much delayed review post on the Revlon Lip Butters. These lip butters are a mix between a lipstick and a lip balm, with moisture and pigmentation. The texture is very smooth and goes on really well. Below I have swatches of 4 that I own.

This is a perky pink, Your typical Barbie Doll color. It does have a blue undertone so it might not flatter olive or dark skins. It also will show heavily on pigmented lips

This is a gorgeous color for Indian skin tones. If you have pigmented lips then this will go beautifully as a my lips but better shade. Its a browny pink that can add umph to an evening look

I was personally very excited for this color but it completely blanks out my lips. This is like a lip concealer and in the swatch you can see how similar it is to my skin color. Maybe it can work for some colors but I would avoid it

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick - ASIA

 A girl always needs a trustworthy lipstick that she can use at any time without thinking twice. For me it has to be Rimmel Lasting finish lipstick in Asia. I was contemplating Airy Fairy but decided to go for this which by the looks of it is a bit darker. 

Its the classic pinky brown shade that will flatter all skin tones and works well with pigmented lips, which I happen have. The color it self is pretty on its own but can be worn with gloss for a night out.

Since its a cream finish it does not last too long by which I mean you will need to touch up after a meal or sip of coffee. 

The packaging is classic Rimmel. It looks posh for the price you pay. The only down side is that this packaging does not allow you to see the color without opening the lipstick.

The scent is nice vanilla scent not as strong as M.A.C but pleasant. Its all in all a good lipstick to have in your vanity and I would recommend it to wheat-ish and olive skin tones.

Rimmel 3 in1 powder blush - 001 SPRING FLOWER

I am always on the hunt for a new blush. In my search i stumbled upon this gorgeous blush by Rimmel. It is from their 3 in 1 blush collection. The shade Spring Flower is a flattering combination of a soft pink, peach and red toned blush. The palette is versatile for all skin colors

I like mixing up the last two colors to give a nice flush and using the soft pink as a highlight. The last shade has barely any shimmer but the first one definately has a good amount of shimmer

The texture is not too powdery. It gives off a decent amount of pigmentation and I can see this as a day blush and a night blush if you add a bit more of the red blush.

The packaging is sturdy but I honestly do not care for the brush that comes with it. It is too harsh and makes the blush powder when applying. Personally I'd not use it.
