WHAT ARE TOP COATS AND WHAT PURPOSE DO THEY SERVE ?

Until recently, topcoats were mostly clear and had one purpose only which is  to make your manicure last! If a base coat is the most important step in making a manicure last, then a nail polish Top coat is the most important step in making your DIY mani look professionally done .Now a-days nail care brands are releasing TONS of awesome layering effects that can change the texture of your polish and enhance your nails with cool details. I think the right nail top coat will depend on what kind of nail colour you are using. The Formula matters allot. Some top coats are not compatible with all brands of nail colours due to ingredients
However, walking through the nail aisle can be overwhelming as there are so many different top coats that all basically promise the same things. Here are some of my best nail polish top coats to add to your collection.
The ‘Oraly in a snap’ top coat is a wonderful hydrating product for your nail. It contains aloe and while it won't solve dry cuticle issues, I've noticed a visible improvement in my nail texture after using this. It helps nail colour apply smoothly as well. I don't use a base coat all the time but when I do this one is among my favourites.

REVELON QUICK DRY TOP COAT
This one takes a bit longer to dry (just a few minutes more) but the finish is shiny and protects the nail polishes pretty well. The thin texture makes it easy to apply smoothly and quickly in a few strokes.
SECHE VITE
This is hands down my best top coat for the price that I've ever tried. I discovered it at one of my local nail salons. Out of all the different kinds of top coats they've used this one provides the longest lasting manicures that are shiny and glossy.
